Plastic ring on back of dress was broken! December 27, 2008 This dress is farily thin but I love it because it fits well and is flattering. I ususally wear a 12 or 14 and am a 38d. I purchased a 1x in Yellow/Black. Perfect Summer dress. Light but not too exposed. However, when I received this dress, one of the plastic rings on the back was broken, so that meant I only had one strap to hold the dress onto my body...I loved the dress and was determined to keep it so I broke the other plastic ring (which was so easy) and tried it on as a halter dress. That didn't work, sooo...I purchased 2 round silver key rings and attached them to the bottom of the straps and to the top of the back of the dress where they stay. Hopefully those key rings won't rust in the wash and ruin my pretty dress!
Could be better.... October 21, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I ordered this dress for a family member who lives overseas and saw it online. When I received the dress, I found it looked a bit "cheapy" for the price. It is a cute design with nice colors but the fabric and construction made it look more like a $20 dress. Nothing against $20 dresses but I think this is where this particular item should have been priced.
A few alterations here and there... September 24, 2008 I purchased this dress in the pink/navy. I'm 5'2"/110 and typically wear a size 2. The dress fit well in the bust unlike other reviewers seemed to experience, but I don't have much of a bust...at all. So the top of the dress being padded was not a problem for me at all and I thought it enhanced my tiny bust quite nicely.br /br /The problem for me was that I felt the dress was just a touch too long (it fell about an inch below my knee and the skirt was a little too poofy for my small frame. It would have been OK, but I had a few alterations to fix that because I really do like the funky pattern.br /br /The straps of the dress are adjustable which does make it seem a little cheap, but it was helpful for me for the fit. I don't think the material or anything seemed cheap to me. It's cotton and lined.br /br /Overall, I liked the dress. It just took a little work to get there.br /br /Also, the shipping was SUPER FAST!! :)br /
Nice Design, Poor Excecution August 28, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I found this garment to be poorly constructed and "cheaply" made. The bust line was so ill fitted that I couldn't even fully get into the dress. The padded bust coupled with the poor fabric choice wouldn't allow the dress to lay flat. br /br /I love the IDEA of the dress, it is a flattering style for a woman with curves, but when you have curves the quality of the garment is crucial. They missed the mark on this one.
Weird dress ... pretty colors July 16, 2008 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
While I kept this dress (which I bought in the pink and navy), it is definitely not at all what it seems to be in the description or picture. It's a very thin cotton material with a similarly thin lining. The bad thing about it is that it has a PADDED bust (which I'm pretty sure was NOT indicated by the description and makes a huge difference). As I am a D cup and this dress, even in a larger size (which I bought because I typically have problems with the bust and don't mind some room in the body area) I'm pretty sure it would not sit right on anyone above a B cup (and anyone above a B cup really has no business wearing a dress without a bra, or at least it's not practical). Because I liked the colors so much (they are pretty, bright and unique), I took the time to alter the dress myself and take the padding out (which was relatively easy to do because of the design), but I don't recommend buying it if you don't like padding, sewing or paying someone to sew! br /br /That being said, the service was great and fast! I was not displeased with anything, but disappointed that it was a little different from what I expected and what it appears to be in the picture. I'd recommend they use actual models to give a better and more realistic idea of what the dress looks like on a human being. It would definitely put it into perspective.
